Designed by V-Strom riders for V-Strom riders.  The Strombone is the perfect solution for mounting a GPS unit to your V-Strom DL650 or DL1000.  This sturdy mount provides a stable platform and convenient location for your GPS unit, iPod, iPhone, Cell Phone, Camera or other electronic device.  Designed for use with RAM Mounts mounting products (sold separately).

What else do I need?

1. 1" Ball - Start by adding a 1" RAM Mounts ball to the Strombone.  We now offer  the option to add either the standard 1" ball, or a 1" ball extension kit (select from the drop down menu above).  *The extension kit is required if you want to use the Strombone with our Radar/Accessory shelf.  This kit includes a Ram Mounts part # RAM-B-252U and stainless steel mounting hardware.  You will only need to order the Extension Kit If you want to use the Strombone with our Radar/Accessory shelf.

2. Arm - Next you will need a 2" (RAM-B-201U-A) or 3" (RAM-B-201U) RAM Mounts Double Socket Arm Base to attach to the 1" ball. The arm will support a GPS cradle that fits your specific model of GPS unit or other device.  The length of arm you choose is personal preference. The 2" arm will be more a bit more stable, while the 3" arm will position the device closer to the rider.

3. Cradle - Finally, you will add a cradle for your specific model of GPS or other device. Some GPS units come with a cradle/ball combo, some come with a cradle only, others come with neither.  You may also need an optional power cable.  Please check your GPS or device manual and the RAM Mounts website to make sure you get the right parts for your application.

RAM-B-236U - RAM 1" Ball Connected to a 3/8"-16 Threaded Post (Standard 1" Ball)
RAM-B-252U  - RAM 1" Ball with 2 1/4" extension (Use this part if you want to have both the Strombone and the Pat Walsh Radar/Accessory shelf mounted at the same time).  Mounting hardware is NOT included if you buy direct from RAM Mounts or another dealer.  Stainless steel mounting hardware IS included if you buy our Extension Kit (Select from dropdown menu above)
